from painting to another trade.   In the late ‘90s, I was laid off – and had the chance to decide what I wanted my “next” to look like.  In my heart of hearts, I’m a tactile, precise person:

I love the tangibility of working with paint & color, and I welcome the challenge of personally installing the highest quality wallpapers – paper so expensive and requiring such precision that other paperhangers will not touch them.  I truly delight in creating something beautiful with integrity and vision, and that has been the basis of Traditional Paperhanging & Painting’s success.

I continue to work personally with every client, and over the years, I’ve been able to hire like-minded employees with the technical skills the job requires.  When you work with me, we have an initial meeting to discuss your project, I provide you with a speedy estimate and oversee all the work.  From painting, preparatory work and clean-up, to wallpaper hanging, deck restoration, power-washing and more, our team helps to make your home more beautiful.    Our goal is to create a seamless experience for our customers; to create an excellent result with the least disruption to your daily life as possible.  We pride ourselves on bringing the spirit of the old country--with the highest quality modern resources.

Many of the photographs of my work feature collaborations with Interior Designers.  A Designer can coordinate your whole house – from flooring to window covering, furniture and wall finishes, from a single style throughout to a different style in every room—a skilled Interior Designer manages the entire project for you.   People who choose to work with a Designer enjoy a streamlined home renovation experience—after all, the Designer takes the time to discover what you really love, and distills a selection of choices into the very best ones available.  Our projects together have ranged throughout Nassau & Suffolk Counties, to NYC, Westchester & Connecticut.

I specialize in the installation of the highest quality fabric wallpapers: hand-twisted woven paper, braided hemp, galvanized and modern silk from Maya Romanoff; vinyl lacquered, coffered wood, tailored linen, velvet walls from Phillip Jeffries.  Every quarter, the Phillip Jeffries New York City showroom asks me to install the wallpapers being highlighted for the season.   We incorporate paints from both Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore.  If there’s something you imagine, we can do it—please just ask; we can provide the painting & paperhanging for your design vision.
